SP Devices from LiU Entrepreneurship and Development (Lead) in Linköping has been named Sweden’s best incubator company.

Trailblazing technology, solid finances and an entrepreneur with fire in his belly all combined to earn SP Devices the 50,000 kronor prize awarded to the winners of the 2008 Metro Tech Challenge.
”It means a lot for staff confidence. Last year we were named Linköping’s leading rookie company, which gave the staff a bit more go,” said CEO Jonas Nilsson.

The company chief said his dream was for people in five years’ time to automatically associate A/D converters with SP Devices.

The firm is currently focusing on the high performance sector.
”Right now we’re working on a project to create a 100 gigabit network. A network that fast will be needed whenever people begin watching IP-TV on different channels at the same time,” said Nilsson.

When asked for his tips for running a successful business, Nilsson said it was crucial to be prepared to take a risk.
”The second thing is that the idea is not that important; if you have a good team the ideas will come,” he said.
