It was the boy's parents who wanted me to take a picture of him. They have had seen other portraits photographed by me and wanted something that was not too happy. It is photographed at my place. I like the photo because of the expression in the boys' eyes, it feels genuine.

The prize is a trip to any Metro city in the world where do you plan to go?

Probably New York, I have never been there. Ever since I was a little boy I have seen movies taking place there, so I have my picture of what the city is like. It would be fun to see it for real.

What is your favorite place on earth?
Iceland. The landscape is very beautiful and unique, it is like nothing else.

What is your dream photograph?
To reach the top of Mount Everest and take a picture from there. It would be awesome.

What's your secret tip in capturing the perfect picture?
Take advantage of the light! In my opinion the right light makes half of the picture.

I was in Åre 660 km north-west of Stockholm with some friends and wanted to photograph the starry heaven. But none of my friends wanted to come along down to the lake, so I had to use my camera tripod and self-timer to be able to the modeling myself. When I went back to the camera I thought to myself "Wow, what a great picture!"

The prize is a trip to any Metro city in the world where do you plan to go?

I would like to go to New York. I have been there once when I was very young, so it would be nice to see the town from a new perspective. It is a cool city with many camera stores.

What is your favorite place on earth?
Sweden is actually very beautiful. Especially the mountains up north, but the archipelagos are nice as well.

What is your dream photo?
Something involving mist, which I like a lot. I have been taking many misty photographs in Stockholm.

What's your secret tip in capturing the perfect picture?
Do not read tests on the internet that tell you what aperture gives the sharpest photos. My tip is simply to improvise yourself.

megálló by Gabriella Bíró / gabriellabiro

I took it on a day at the end of August as we were travelling to the grandparents, who live on the countryside. As a kid I made this journey so many times, I know the names of each station by heart and love the atmosphere of travelling by train. This picture was made a little bit after 6 PM, we had beautiful lights and a fantastic reflection in the window. My son sticked to the window with the same excitement all the way through the journey.

Where do you plan to go on your prize trip?
I would love to go to Chile.

What is your favorite place on earth?
Wherever I am.

What is your dream photograph?
For me, there is no such one.
