Among other things, she promises to perform songs from her latest album, but also previous hits.
What would you say is the difference between performing in the Arab world compared to the western world?
– It is more challenging to perform in Arabic in a foreign country due to the language barriers and the cultural diversity. On the other hand, it is interesting for me to see how international fans react with my songs, especially if they don’t get the language, instead they are interested only in the music and the rhythm.
You have talked a lot about gender equality. Is that something you’re passionate about as an influential artist in the Middle East?
– Women’s rights is the Middle East are not a priority. And due to the political systems in the Arab world, there are a lot of differences between the rights of men and women which is seen daily in our society. I think gender equality is a given and should always be supported for a better future. Women nowadays can make a great change in the world and they are ruling countries, so why not to be equal with men.

– We are very happy to book such a great Arab star as Nawal for the third year in a row. We do this primarily to offer all newly arrived refugees and all Arabic speakers a clear identification to the cultural life in Sweden, but also as a great opportunity for anyone who has not yet experienced Arabic music, says Tasso Stafilidis, operations manager at Göteborgs kulturkalas.
